The Department has an open and collaborative culture with very little oversight of faculty research. This high degree of flexibility supports fundamental computer science research, strong cross-cutting collaborations both within the department, across the university, and with industry. About 350 people here are engaged in research: academic staff, research associates, and PhD students.
