Second-year students, like first years, do not have any options in which courses to take. Courses mostly follow on the prior year’s material (with courses on ‘Further Graphics’ and ‘Further HCI’) but also cover more traditional topics such as compilers, C, and Unix tools. During the Lent term, students take part in a group project, done on behalf of a client, typically a Cambridge-based company. They try to solve a real-world problem, with guidance from company personnel. This is typically the highlight of the year.
