Cambridge has a moderate climate with mild winters (the temperature rarely goes below 0C) and moderate summers (it rarely is warmer than 30C). It has its fair share of rain, being part of the UK, but it is reputed to be the driest spot in the UK: rain storms from the Atlantic dissipate before they reach East Anglia, where Cambridge is located.

With climate change, summers are getting warmer. In 2019, the UK high of 38.4C was set in Cambridge and in 2022, a high of 40C was reached.

Anyone moving from northern North America (New York, Winsconsin, or most of Canada) would find the weather here conducive to being outside; those from warmer climates or California might find the long stretches of dreary winter weather more taxing.
