The University is composed of Schools, Faculties, and Departments.

There are six Schools, each of which brings together multiple faculties and associated institutions. The schools are: Arts and Humanities, Biological Sciences, Clinical Medicine, Humanities and Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Technology.

University Faculties are organised into sub-divisions called Departments.

The Department of Computer Science and Technology is both a Department and its own Faculty, and sits within the School of Technology.

Besides the Schools, the University has two non-School entities:

• Cambridge University Press & Assessment publishes and creates world-leading content and examinations that are used around the world.
• The University's Institute of Continuing Education provides accessible, flexible and high-quality education to adults throughout their lives.
